After 23 months and payments totalling $16,119.55 i found out today that only $5632.84 has actually gone to pay down my debt. They have pocketed the other $10486.31 in fees and charges for their program so roughly 1/3 has gone to my debt and 2/3 to them. Does that sound like a good way to get out of debt to you???Also, since they are doing monthly payment programs with 3 credit card companies i settled with, none of my cards are actually paid off yet at this time. They told me to stop paying my cards and let them handle it and not talk to the card companies. My interest compounded and now i owe much more than i did before i started with them and my credit score tanked exponentially. There has been almost zero communication until i finally got wise that nothing was being paid off and i started contacting them to find out what was happening. Now i am trying to get a loan from my bank to pay the remander of the debt they got offers on and my bank tells me there are no payments to any of the cards registered on my credit history. They approached me with a mailing at a most vulnerable time in my life. My income is from Social security disability for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The person who came out to my house to have me sign, rushed me through the process and none of the fees and how payments are structured was discussed with me. I was only told that an additional $59 would be added on for the mandatory educational program. So i thought the $700.85 i was paying them would mostly be going to paying my debt down. I now plan to go to the attorney general in my state to file a complaint against this group. Beware and RUN do not walk away as fast as you can if they contact you.
