Good shop but not impressed by the poor treatment of one member of staff by his superior. Did not create a good impression. You should show more patience with younger people trying to learn.
I bought an 18 Thermos labelled "Keep Hot 18 hours". Liquid was luke warm after 12 hrs! Explained to the cashier A but cashier B, who was serving another customer, piped up that they cannot refund. He sounded aggressive and went on to state that because it was used and not defective they will not refund and that the label states ".. up to 18 hrs" (but the words "up to" are not on the label). He implied that it could stay hot anytime from 0-18 hrs. I asked to speak to the Manager as that cashier's knowledge of consumer rights was found wanting. He then asked cashier A to take over his till so he can go to his manager's office. He came back & stated they will refund as a gesture of goodwill. He clearly needs to be trained (or retrained) on customer service and consumer rights.
Bought a defective product, came to return it. Most of the staff was pleasant, until John went full cowboy and went with the assumption that I assembled the product (which requires no assembly) wrong. John went on to test the product (which was indeed defective), I emphasised that it could not be an error on my part as they product came already assembled and that it was disingenuous to blame the consumer without giving it a thought. He became rude and arrogant and gave me a hard time. Robert Dyas, if you read this, your staff are lovely, but this individual certainly ruined my experience.
The service by John Arkle (spelling) is % he knows everything about anything. Even helped me replace my sports watch battery. Amazing customer service. If you need anything, chat to this guy.Store has 99.9% things you need.
